Cholesterol - A FRIEND OR A VILLAIN part 2

May 15, 2017

Statin Drugs are the Poison

Cholesterol is the most controversial topic of modern medicine particularly because statin drugs are the biggest money makers of all time.

Your body and especially your liver makes all the cholesterol you need and circulates it through the blood. Cholesterol is also found in foods from animal sources such as meat, poultry and full-fat dairy products.

Research has proved the direct connection of trans fatty acids with cardiovascular diseases, breast cancer, shortening of pregnancy period, risks of preeclampsia, disorders of nervous system and vision in infants, colon cancer, diabetes, obesity and allergy.

Your liver produces more cholesterol to fight free radicals generated when you eat a diet high in saturated and trans fats.

One of the most important jobs of cholesterol is to aide in the production of hormones.

75% of the cholesterol is made by your body

25% comes from the food we eat

How to read cholesterol level:

It is a ratio you should be looking at !!

For example, if your total cholesterol number is 250 and your HDL is 50, your ratio is 250/50 or 5. People are urged to aim for a ratio of 5 or less, but a ratio of 3.5 or lower is considered optimal.

High LDL cholesterol can be caused by several factors — some you can change, and some you can't.

Decreasing bad foods intake ( see my previous post "12 Foods You Shouldn't Eat and Why")

and replacing it with unsaturated fat diet of full fat milk, cheese, eggs, butter, meat cooked rear, eggs...and antioxidant foods makes a difference.

If you eat ½ kg of butter you will rise your cholesterol level by 0.1. Liver works with your diet to make sure that you have the right amount of cholesterol given your unique body requirements. If you have damage to the blood vessels your body will increase cholesterol as a response to the damage. It has never been proven by a research that cholesterol causes the heart disease. You can find cholesterol in blood vessels because there is damage and it was sent there to repair damage not to caused it.

Antioxidant foods are cleaning your body from free radicals not only produced by food. The less of free radicals - the less the need for your body to produce LDL.

There is no science behind what is normal cholesterol level.

In the 80's 300/150 was the appropriate level of cholesterol. Every few years you are told that at the moment the healthy level is 250/150 and at the moment 200/150. So, having the same level, one day you are healthy and the next - you are on cholesterol lowering drug.

The studies show, says Dr. Andreas Moritz MD that lowering the cholesterol puts your body hormone production at risk, damages your cardiovascular system, increases heart disease, put you in higher risk of developing cancer.

Cholesterol is a stress hormone that travels to the area of an inflammation, wound healing internally and externally. The body depends on it because it is a survival mechanism.

How  Statins Work

Statin drugs create an inflammation in the liver that holds the body's production of cholesterol, any cholesterol, the good one as well; then, you are put on the fat free diet that lowers it even more.

When you lower cholesterol with statins, you are impairing the body healing mechanism. You are causing problem to the liver that uses cholesterol to manufacture bile. Bile is needed to digest the food. You interfere with digestive process which is responsible for nourishing every cell of your body. Statins are also known to cause a liver damage.
